Col di Lamo — The feminine soul of Montalcino
In the hills of Montalcino, where Sangiovese finds one of its most noble expressions, lies Col di Lamo — a small and deeply personal estate shaped by passion, patience and a profound respect for the land.
Founded by Mara D’Onofrio, Col di Lamo is more than a winery. It is a reflection of a woman’s vision of Montalcino: elegant, precise and uncompromising in its pursuit of quality. Here, the vineyards are cultivated with the belief that great wine begins long before the cellar — in the soil, the exposure, the seasons and the careful observation of every vine.
The estate is devoted primarily to Sangiovese, the heart and soul of Brunello di Montalcino. Rather than masking the character of the grape, Col di Lamo seeks to reveal it: its perfume, structure, freshness and remarkable ability to express both place and vintage.
The wines are made with a restrained hand, allowing time to become an essential ingredient. Traditional Montalcino character meets a contemporary sense of elegance, resulting in wines of depth and finesse, with fine tannins, aromatic complexity and the unmistakable savoury character of Sangiovese.
At Col di Lamo, wine is ultimately about identity. A connection between woman, vineyard and territory — a quiet expression of Montalcino that rewards patience and reveals itself slowly, glass after glass.
